caught ya!

We came home to this after being gone for the weekend.
But, how could we be mad at that little fuzz face?? =)

running out of time

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to search and time to give up,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
Is there a shortage of time or just a shortage of vision?
Many people in their 20-somethings feel the pressure of "running out of time". Why? Is this my one chance for adventure? Is there an age of life that is more exciting than the last or than the next? When i was 7, it was an adventure to play in the backyard. There was an adventure awaiting within my imagination. When i was 13, it was an adventure to navigate the confusing ride of middle school. phew. 16, ordering my first pizza on the phone (scary!). 18, going to college, 22, getting married, 24, loving a growing family (cats, in-laws, nieces). these are all seasons that are sweet and bitter in their own way.
I am going to be 25 this April.
when do the adventures stop happening? i hope never.

Curtains and Christmas presents

I've been looking for some curtains to soften our living room up. i found some and we really like what they add to our little living room, makes it more cozy.
Pat hemmed this curtain to fit our door. Up till now, we had been sitting in our living room and looking right into our neighbors(the nuns!) kitchen window. So, thanks Pat! we are glad for a bit more privacy!
Edgel. Christmas present from mom and dad Andrews. Thanks, mom and dad! my mom got it an art fair, you could pick out the letters to your name. cool, huh?
And below is Keri Andrews art! So cool. Keri, my sis-in-law, told me in November that she was making my Christmas gift. This got me very excited, because she is an artist so I knew it would be something cool. She did not disappoint! The design that she painted on this old window (that her mom got at a garage sale) is the same as the one on a pillow in my living room. they match! I couldn't believe it. She snuck into our house and took a picture of the pillow and created this design from it. awesome! definitely a favorite gift.

pharmacy phriend

So there is this girl at the pharmacy that is friendly with customers including me. She is nice and around my age. She has given me a friendly 'hey!' more than once. At first, i would look around and be like....is she talking to me? oh she is, 'hey!' i would return. we've chatted about acne medicine and the weather.

I kind of always dread seeing her, for no good reason. i guess i just want to take care of my business and get on my way. it's not very nice of me, but it's the truth. last time i was in there, i noticed that she was pregnant which is cool. we didn't talk though.

i had a very awkward interaction with her last night. she happened to be at the window when i dropped off my prescription.
"you look warm", she said. i was bundled up from being outside.

"I am." I said, and then responded with, "you look pregnant."

smooth. i immediately felt like a big dope. i followed it up with a genuine congrats to try to convey that i thought being pregnant was cool.

i hope that i can laugh about this someday.

New Year

We spent this New Years Eve in Memphis Tennessee with youth group kids. We did not watch the ball drop on TV. Even though it's corny, you have to watch- it's tradition! Instead, we heard some girl using her cell phone as a timepiece say,
"5 minutes to midnight!"
"3 minutes to midnight!"
"oh, ok, It's Midnight!! Happy New Year!"

yipee.

I was packing up merch. Jeff was taking down gear from the show. I didn't even see him until a few minutes later when we shared a lame awkward kiss in front of some youth group kids. I'm complaining, so I'll stop. it wasn't my IDEAL new years eve, but that's ok.

I am thankful for this year because i have got to spend it with my husband. I've spent quality time with my family and friends. This is a season of my life that I am growing to appreciate more and more. The beginning of this year has left me surprisingly hopeful; i have the excited-new-beginning-feeling in the pit of my stomach and i like it.

I have been learning about how to be content in the present. some glorify the past, others the future. I am guilty of always looking to what's next. i hope to continue to practice the art of contentment. seasons come and go. and that's just it, they go and i just might miss it when it does.

Christmas '09

Christmas Bowling! a holiday MUST.
Bowling and pizza with the Andrews cousins. Lots of fun! Mom got an all time personal high score on the first game, so she decided to not push her luck and sat out the second.
Ladies on Christmas morning.
Jeff needed some serious fuel to make it from the Andrews Christmas and then on to the Edgels
she's special
Christmas Skype-ing with some Edgels across the globe. We missed seeing Andy, Irina and Alda this year for Christmas. They live in Brussels, Belgium but they are planning a USA visit in February, we can't wait!
Our adorable niece Olive Mae opening her gift from Grammy. She proceeded to kiss the doll 6 or 7 times- so cute!
cousins!
